The Great Repeal Act
The Lib Dems have today announced that they would dismantle much of the current government's legislation. Successive Labour Home Secretaries have introduced over 3,000 new offences since 1997 and the Lib Dems are running a poll to see which of these are the most unpopular. No ambiguity over their stance on ID cards though - the Identity Cards act, passed in March this year is number 2 on their "Top Ten Laws to be Scrapped". The rest of the list highlights some more of the attacks on human rights and justice that this government has carried out. Okay - so it's a stunt, but a good one.
